Just two miles south of the medieval market town of Devizes, peacefully surrounded by woodland, fields and home to the village cricket ground you will find Blounts Court Farm. We are a 200 acre arable farm with horses and rescue battery hens wandering around outside.
The farmhouse we suspect pre-dates 1800 and originally belonged to Blounts Court which was burnt down during the Civil Wars in the 16th century then rebuilt at the beginning of the 19th century. During the 38 years under our ownership the farmhouse has been completely renovated with the attached converted barn offering high quality guest accommodation.
We offer plenty of parking and safe bike storage should you require it. Close to the World Heritage Sites of Stonehenge & Avebury Stone Circle both being 15 minutes by car. Bath, Salisbury and many fabulous National Trust properties for example, the village of Lacock and Stourhead house & gardens are all nearby. The local pub, The George & Dragon which serves local ales and meals is a five minute walk.
"We didn't really want to review this place because we wanted to keep it all to ourselves! I guess I'm going to have to book pretty early if I want to get a room back here. The quality of the rooms, breakfast and homely service is just top class" David, London
Our Wiltshire breakfast is taken around our mahogany dining table in the elegant dining room. There is a large menu to choose from including the traditional Full English Wiltshire Breakfast with bacon and sausages sourced from local farms. The free-range eggs are laid by our rescue battery hens which are now free to roam the farm - their eggs make the most amazing scrambled eggs and omelettes. Perhaps a slightly more unusual choice would be to try our very own Potterne pancake or maybe banana pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup. All freshly cooked to order using our traditional Aga. The delicious bread and preserves are all home made. If you like fruit in the mornings then why not try our homegrown fruit compote gently sweetened with elderflower cordial made from the hedgerows around the farm and Greek style yoghurt. Individual diets can be catered for.
